A huge ‘thank you’ to the Year 6 children at Shenton Primary school who, as part of their learning about refugees, were motivated to donate these beautifully decorated boxes, filled with a fantastic selection of gifts.
The families that received the gifts for their children were delighted. One mum said: ‘That is so kind of the children to give to us’.
Not only that, but they took the time to listen when I came in to speak to them about the difficulties faced by Refugees and Asylum Seekers – why they might be fleeing their homes and the problems they can face here in the UK.
Lots of excellent questions from the children, I was very impressed!
