Volunteers who run the Drop-in centre were delighted when The Clothworkers’ Foundation agreed a £10,000 grant for new equipment for the Drop-in and other activities.
We can now buy laptops and sewing machines for the two key activities we run on Thursday afternoons and we will no longer have to put up with slow internet connections or broken down machines! In addition, a data projector and printer will be useful resources and the new English classes will access this equipment too. New activities can now be developed when we purchase digital cameras and musical instruments. Art equipment for our Art classes and learning resources, dictionaries and books for our English classes will make a big difference.
We’ll also be able to buy secure storage for all this new equipment and give our drop-in a smarter look.
Our users, asylum seekers and refugees (many of whom are destitute), deserve the best and we are so pleased to provide new equipment and not rely on others cast offs. This is a real morale boost for all. A BIG thank you to The Clothworkers’ Foundation.
