Our families were very lucky to be able to take part in Leicester City in the Community’s What’s Your Story project, which was inspired by Leicester City footballer Sophie Howard, and launched at the Women’s Super League match against Manchester City, which we attended. The children took part in the pre-match activities, which included a climbing wall, and then joined other groups to walk round the pitch at half time.
Three weeks later, we attended a Graffiti Workshop organised by LCitC and Pedestrian Arts. The children drew things that represented their own story, like their home nation’s flag and their interests, first on paper and then on small and large canvasses. Amongst other things, we learnt the meaning behind different country’s flags. The final piece of work was very inspiring.
To everyone’s excitement, Sophie Howard joined us and participated in the activity. It was a wonderful event, which we will all remember.

As a special treat for the families that participated in the project, LCitC treated us to a bowling session at East Street Lanes followed by a lunch of pizza and chips.
